Dacia Milescu

Dr. Dacia Milescu is a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and has been a podiatric physician since 1998. She became interested in yoga back in 2003 after the birth of her third child. Yoga soon became the centerpiece of her life when in May of 2007, she suffered a neck and back injury from a motor vehicle accident. The road back to health and performing podiatric surgery was made possible much quicker with the practice of yoga. Her return to normal function within two months was deemed incredible. This comeback gave her inspiration to become a yoga teacher. Dacia's background as a competitive level gymnast, former gymnastics coach, and physician has given her unique insights into the interaction of the human body, mind and spirit. This insight has led her to embrace yoga as means to helping people regain their health and well-being.Her present goals are to introduce the art and science of yoga to people of all ages, to provide tools for self-healing and to encourage healthy lifestyles through yoga.As a physician, she wishes to provide a bridge between standard allopathic medicine and complementary medicine, allowing a synthesis or transformation of ideas resulting in a comprehensive method of preventative medicine."It is the science of self healing through an awakening of energy levels, while settling one's nerves in the tranquility of yoga breathing, linking this breath with the tension-releasing joy of artful meditative movement."

Kathy Harris

I was introduced to yoga in college while studying Dance. Yoga was a natural transition from my studies in contemporary and modern dance. I was a performing arts teacher in both the public and private school settings for ten years. I have been practicing yoga on a regular basis for the past decade. Yoga has helped me to manage life's challenges in a positive way. It has given me the tools to be more mindful and peaceful in the everyday. I am passionate about sharing these tools with others and allowing them to find peace within.
A gentle class with specific modifications for the expectant mom. Class is open to anyone. Class ends in a restorative savasana. No yoga experience required.
