offers a 200 hour and 500 hour certification program in Hatha Yoga
This program is designed for those who
- plan to teach traditional Hatha Yoga
- incorporate yoga into a health-related career
- or for those seeking to deepen their personal practice and understanding of yoga without the intention of teaching
Certified by Yoga Alliance, since 2004 as a Registered School, our Teacher Training Program offers participants a deeper understanding of the evolution of Yoga. Red Sun Yoga offers a 200-hour and 500-hour certification program in Hatha Yoga. Upon completion of the 200-hour certification program, you are eligible to become registered with the Yoga Alliance.

Our comprehensive program covers:
-Techniques that are very different from a group class.
-Learning how to assess your client with one-on-one instruction.
-Developing a strategy for yoga therapy with the client.
-Learning how to re-balance the client and assisting them to meet their goals.
-Sharing modifications with them to meet their physical limitations or
-Modifying easy poses to make them more challenging.
200-Hour Certification – Hatha Yoga

Session 1 – January 26 – January 30, 2011
Session 2 – April 27 – May 1, 2011
Five day intensives – 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
In-between sessions – alternate Friday evenings and Saturdays
Friday evenings – 7:30 – 9:00 pm
Saturdays – 11:00 – 5:00 pm
Our comprehensive program covers:
- Skills necessary to instruct a Hatha Level I class. This basic class is utilized by Dr. Dean Ornish in his groundbreaking work in reversing heart disease.
- Knowledge and tools to safely and effectively teach a beginners class, consisting of asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing practices), deep relaxation, and meditation.
- Confidence to provide adjustments and corrections for beginners.
- An introduction and exploration of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
- Guidance to experience a deeper level of physical and mental well-being, vitality, and relaxation, promoting flexibility, strength, and health for the entire system.
500-Hour Certification – Intermediate Hatha Yoga

Our comprehensive program covers:
- An opportunity to upgrade your teaching skills, deepen your practice, and expand your services by learning how to teach classes beyond the the Hatha Level I class.
- Intermediate asanas and variations, as well as intermediate pranayama practices.
- Scriptural study of the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita – expanding your grounding in the universal teachings of Yoga for personal development and deepening your understanding for teaching.
- An opportunity to meet and spend time with other Yoga teachers, to share experiences and new ideas, and to find creative solutions to problems encountered in teaching.
