Red Sun Yoga offers 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (a continuation of the 200-Hour), as well as many Certified Continuing Education Credit Trainings.

The 200-Hour Teacher Training is designed for those who:
  • plan to teach traditional Hatha Yoga
  • wish to incorporate yoga into a health-related career
  • seek to deepen their personal practice and understanding of yoga without the intention of teaching

When you have completed the 200-hour certification program you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Red Sun Yoga Teacher Training is a Registered Yoga School which follows the criteria established by the Yoga Alliance.

200-Hour Teacher Training Program

The 200-Hour Training includes:

  • In depth study of asana (postures) to deepen your own personal practice and to safely teach others
  • The rich history and philosophy of yoga, including The Yoga Sutras
  • Sanskrit – the ancient language of yoga
  • Pranayama – breathing techniques and practice
  • Meditation – the practice of mindful stillness
  • Yoga Nidra – the practice of guided meditation
  • Anatomy and Physiology of the human body and each posture
  • Ayurveda – the ancient science of life and living in harmony with the Earth
  • The Chakra System – the anatomy of the seven energy centers
  • Adjustments and Modifications for each posture
  • Ethics and the Business of Yoga

300-Hour Teacher Training Program

The 300-Hour Training is a continuation along the yoga teaching path and will include:

  • Postures - how to instruct new and advanced postures
  • Teacher training on different styles of yoga: Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin
  • A deeper study of the philosophy through books 3 & 4 of the Sutras and other sacred yogic texts
  • Instruction and support on building workshops and series
  • Building a yoga teaching career support
  • The science behind yoga, yoga nidra, and meditation
  • Whole weekends devoted to Ayurveda, The Chakra System, and Yoga Nidra

The practice of Yoga for children is unsurpassed as a form of preventative health – on all levels – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Through stories and games children develop lifelong healthy habits and are supported in blossoming into their highest potential.

Children love Yoga. They love the movement and creative expression associated with the asanas, and they cherish the opportunity to “rest” at the end of each class. Based on sound child development principles, the ancient science of Yoga is turned into fun, engaging, age appropriate stuff kids love.

• 3 lesson plans you can use as is or with modifications
• An introduction to the benefits and specialized techniques of teaching Yoga to children from the age of 4 years through the teen years,as well as whole families 
• Becoming the children and practice a class just as they do 
• A question and answer session
• Resources for further study
• Many tools and techniques to share with the children in your life as well as a deeper  understanding of Yoga
