What can I expect in my yoga class?
Each class and teacher is different. If you start in a gentle or Hatha I class (as recommended if you’re new to yoga) you will begin by either sitting or lying on your yoga mat. The instructor will begin by centering the class with the focus on the breath (pranayama). Next, you will do gentle warm ups, followed by the postures of yoga (asanas), progressive muscle relaxation, and deep relaxation to conclude the class.
